well well well...

here's an update after all these months..
can't even remember when we went to tasmania. i reckon it must have been sometime in october or something like that...

jo and cclia flew over first and we met them 1 day later in hobart.. we had to transit in sydney then to hobart.. fly was about 1.5 hrs to sydney and another 1 hour or so to hobart... we were so excited...

anyway touched down in hobart and went to our rooms at this place called the woodman's inn or something along sandy bay road in hobart... just a cosy little place for the 4 of us.. they actually booked for 2 people so we had to sneak in.. haha.. saved alot of money though

went up to mt wellington on the first or second day in hobart and it was absolutely freezing.. we have more pictures but they're with jo. It was so cold all our ears turned red... there was actually snow around the rocks as well.. the wind was blowing so hard there weren't any birds in the air...

next day or so we drove down to the cadbury chocolat factory... it was one of those things that you had to do in tasmania. it didn't really live up to expectations but then again it was something different... wasn't really like charlie and the chocolate factory.. more like some industrial factory that kept churning out chocolate..

after hobart we drove up to port arthur to look at all the old forts and stuff... quite creepy when we walked among the jail cells and all..but it was a really impressive estate... the fort had everything from schools, to living quarters, to churches etc... and it was very peaceful....

next day we moved along the east coast towards freycinct national park/oyster bay... we rented a small cabin with a great mountain view.. the air was so fresh it was just ridiculous.. we woke up to birds chirping and absolutely no traffic noises at all....the cabin was just the cutest room ever... me and fran slept on the bed while jo and cclia slept on the floor... considering it was their honeymoon though.. they offered to sleep on the floor..

next day we tricked the girls into climbing mount amos... they thought it was a 45 min trek.. instead it was like a 2 hour climb to the top.. it was tiring but it was definitely worth the climb...
had dinner at some tavern along the coast at night...

after oyster bay, we moved further up towards launceston... passed through launceston and stayed at some motel for one night...
launceston was dead.. at 4pm on a friday afternoon, the city was totally deserted...

anyway after launceston we moved up to cradle mountain.. i daresay it was the highlight of the trip.. it was so cold but we loved every minute of it.. just the thought of being on a mountain itself and staying in a mountain lodge for 2 days was enough for us...

trekked lake st clair and dove lake.. walked the many 'magical walks'..took enough photos to last a lifetime...every morning, little wallabies would come to our doorstep....

on the day we were leaving, it started snowing...!.. it was fran, jo and cclia's first time and they were just estactic... albeit snowed for a short while only but still...

cradle mountain is a must do and see when you go there and i thoroughly recommend it..

left cradle mountain and moved back towards launceston.. stayed at a 'historic' inn .. relaxed most of the day and prepared to ease ourselves back into reality...

all in all.. it was a cracker of a trip....and I have to say i have considered retiring in tasmania...

enjoy the pics...

Hi there,

its been a while since i've updated this... been using this line for the past few updates.

anyway, erwin had to clear his leave so he came over for a break and also to visit his alma mater. at that time i had a broken ankle so it was pretty inconvenient but we still managed to have heaps of fun - especially with all the beer and alcohol involved; not to mention his run-in with Rachel from the classifieds section while using my phone and pissing out of my balcony!!! wtf? also managed to trip to the local pub and not to mention the gold coast too with me all this time hobbling along on crutches. fran managed to snap a very convincing shot of a houseboat in the midst of sinking on the coast! well, looks like you did enjoy the break and will hope to see you soon bro...

after he left, johnson and pauling came over about 3 - 4 weeks later.... visited quite a number of places, namely the glasshouse mountains, gold coast as usual, the west end markets, wynnnum etc etc. was good to have them visit too cos i was getting bored at home .. me with no job and all...
anyway while having a picnic at lake baroon, we got attacked by a bloody kookaburra.. i was eating and all of a sudden i heard this flapping on my right shoulder and the bird stole my sausage (does that sound right)... anyway for the rest of the picnic, we had johnson on guard with the butter knife for protection.. they were here for 1 week i think but it seemed to fly by so quickly.. .anyway hope you guys enjoyed yourselves... not sure when we'll see u again cos your baby is due.. congrats

oh well that's enough for now.. last couple of pics were of fran holding up parvinder's tickets to the world cup! yes the lucky bastard went to germany for the world cup...

see you all soon

ps .pardon the titles on the pics.. ran out of ideas

hello hello....

haven't been able to access a fast connection so couldn't really upload any photos for all to see... not sure who the all here means but just all of you...

where do i start? firstly, it was a long awaited trip back to spore to spend xmas with friends and family. was really looking forward to going back and it was a very very enjoyable trip. I honestly didn't feel like going back to brisbane but i need to get a job to sustain this type of lifestyle... sigh, no money so what to do?...

ok we did quite a number of things so lets see if i can manage to squeeze everything in. we went for makan at chinatown, went to desaru to check out kenny's ostrich farm, attended johnson and pauline's wedding, went to lionel's place for the new year countdown, went to johnson's place for makan, went to pauline ong's place for makan, then also to angus' place for a horror night, visited grandma and relatives, went to sentosa for a swim, went clubbing a couple of times, fishing, mahjong... think we did almost everything

not sure how we did it but we managed to squeeze all of that into 3 weeks...

the pics i have attached maybe a little out of order but just enjoy them..... will try and update more often...

see u
